ABOUT THE EVENT
This course aims to empower the consuming side of the coffee value chain to understand the language, basic biological principles, and the intricacies and challenges of consistently processing quality coffee.
QP1 is a short processing course that can be given in consuming countries or all over the world. The training part of the course involves lectures, group activities, and cuppings. To be certified, attendees must pass a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course. This course can be offered in-person or delivered as an online/hybrid course.
Any coffee professional (namely roasters, retailers, baristas) who are willing to learn about the main processing methods and how they impact coffee flavor and chemistry.

A seasoned coffee professional with over a decade of experience in the specialty coffee industry.
Created the "Farmer Direct" project, a program connecting Sumatran coffee producers with international buyers to promote sustainable, ethical sourcing, and fair-trade practices.
Appointed to be the official distributor for Lalcafe™ yeasts for Indonesia, and successfully marketed to most South East Asia coffee producing countries.
Instructed coffee quality evaluation and post-harvest processing courses in numerous countries, including Brazil, Thailand, Russia, Laos, China, Philippines, Indonesia, and more.
Contributed to Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) publication “The Value of Specialty Coffee Cuppers”. Collaborated with Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) to pilot multiple new post-harvest processing course designs.
