Ahmed Bin Sulayem is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC and has driven its growth from a start-up of 28 member companies in 2003 to the world’s leading free zone in 2022 with over 21,000 member companies from 180 countries, employing over 65,000 people.
Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to the market a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership. In 2021, DMCC was named the ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record seven consecutive years.
Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working in 87 towers. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project; the much-anticipated Uptown Dubai district.
Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX).
The Kimberley Process officially appointed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process in November 2015. Shortly after, the UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Mr Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the Kimberley Process for 2016.
PRESIDENT AND CEO, BROOKLYN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Randy Peers joined the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce as the President and CEO on September 9, 2019. He brings with him decades of workforce and economic development expertise, and several years of executive leadership experience growing non-profit organizations that serve the business community.
He previously served as the inaugural President & CEO of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) in Berks County, PA overseeing the alignment of the Chamber of Commerce and two economic development organizations. For over a decade Randy was CEO of Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT), a Brooklyn-headquartered workforce development organization that was the leading provider of disconnected youth job training services in NYC. From 2002-2006, Randy served as Vice President of Economic Development at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce under then President Kenneth Adams, developing a portfolio of projects that included the Good Help program, Real Estate Development (RED) industry initiative, as well as developing the concept for the Business Solutions Center. Randy’s non-profit program management experience developed while at CAMBA, one of the largest social services providers in Brooklyn. During Randy’s tenure as Chair of Sunset Park’s Community Board 7, he saw the completion of Sunset Park High School and three neighborhood rezonings.
Randy holds a Bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College and an MPA from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. Randy was born, raised, and spent most of his professional career in Brooklyn, having lived in five different neighborhoods across the borough.

Mohammed Ibrahim Mohammed is a Senior Manager of Corporate Sales at DMCC, the world’s leading Free Zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise.
Joining DMCC in 2014, Mohammed is responsible for promoting the benefits of doing business in Dubai and establishing a presence in DMCC. Building strategic relationships is a key focus for Mohammed, and so too is engaging with local and international business communities at key industry events throughout the year.
With over 16 years of business development and corporate sales experience, Mohammed has worked alongside a number of senior figures in both the public and private sectors of the United Arab Emirates. Mohammed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the American University in Emirates.
Director, U.S. Commercial Service – New York, U.S. Export Assistance Center
Carmela Mammas is the Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Service New York Export Assistance Center.
Carmela is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology and joined the Commercial Service in 1992. She has been working with U.S. exporters for over 30 years. She leads a team of Senior International Trade Specialists to assist New York City and Long Island firms succeed globally. Working closely with U.S. Commercial Service colleagues in over 75 countries, her team focuses on counseling firms in high export growth industries, including advanced manufacturing, apparel, aerospace, architecture and engineering, consumer goods, disaster resilience, education services, information technology and communications, financial services, processed food and beverage, franchising, green technology, healthcare and beauty, media and entertainment, safety and security, smart cities, and travel and tourism.
Carmela serves as the U.S. government’s liaison to the United Nations procurement division. Her office is also co-located in downtown Manhattan with the Northeast Regional Office of the Export Import Bank of the United States and a U.S. Small Business Administration Regional Trade Finance Manager to provide a “one stop shop” to U.S. exporters. She also serves as the Executive Secretary of the NY District Export Council, where private sector members are appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.
Carmela is the recipient of the Gold Medal Award for sustaining the mission of export promotion in the wake of Hurricane Sandy that caused unprecedented damage in New York and New Jersey.
International Trade Manager, Global NY
Brian Teubner works with businesses and organizations in New York City and across NYS to promote export growth as part of the Global NY division at NYS Empire State Development. To achieve this, Global NY has programs that can provide export market intelligence and distributor searches as well as grants to offset the costs of eligible trade activities, such as trade show attendance.
He directly manages one of the available grant programs, the Global NY Grant Fund, which provides awarded NYS companies a matching grant for eligible export activities. Previously he worked in the Long Island Regional Office and New York City Regional Office of Empire State Development to promote business growth and economic development through the Regional Economic Development Council initiative. Brian has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The George Washington University and is originally from Long Island.
Executive Director - Commodities & Financial Services, DMCC
Sanjeev Dutta is the Executive Director of Commodities and Financial Services at DMCC. He oversees DMCC’s commodities vertical, and directs the development, implementation and regulation of the organisation’s financial products, platforms and services.
An expert on trade finance and commodity markets, Sanjeev is responsible for identifying new business opportunities for DMCC and nurturing existing commercial partnerships. He was instrumental in establishing the DMCC Tea Centre, DMCC Coffee Centre and the award-winning DMCC Tradeflow platform, and now tasked with enhancing the trade of agri and softs, precious metals and stones through Dubai.
Sanjeev is a senior member of DMCC’s executive leadership team and supports the general management, strategic direction and growth initiatives of the organisation. Sanjeev devised and implemented the organisation’s Code of Corporate Governance, and established its comprehensive risk management protocol.
Joining on its inception, Sanjeev has held a number of senior roles within DMCC and previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DCGX). A distinguished speaker, Sanjeev regularly represents DMCC at international industry events and is an expert on trade, commodities and Islamic Finance.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Sanjeev has over two decades of multi-industry expertise in auditing, financial controls, consulting, risk management, corporate governance and general management with both PwC and KPMG.
