Ahmed Bin Sulayem

Ahmed Bin Sulayem is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC and has driven its growth from a start-up of 28 member companies in 2003 to the world’s leading free zone in 2023 with over 24,000 member companies from 180 countries, employing over 65,000 people.

Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to the market a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership. In 2023, DMCC was named the ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record nine consecutive years.

Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working in 87 towers. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project; the much-anticipated Uptown Dubai district.

Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX).

The Kimberley Process officially appointed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process in November 2015. Shortly after, the UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Mr Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the Kimberley Process for 2016.

Shri Paresh K Mehta

Shri. Paresh K Mehta, Partner, Sharda Corporation & Group of Companies is the incumbent Western Region Chairman of Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), the apex body of the export promotion organisations in India, set up by Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India.

• He has served as Board Member in FIEO for more than 8 years.
• He has been Convenor of Customs, Excise & Service Tax in FIEO Western Region for around 8 years, and member of Regional Advisory committees in FIEO Western Region for more than12 years.
• He has been Convenor for non-Ferrous and EPNS panel in EEPC for 12 years.
• He is Managing Committee member at All India Stainless Steel Association since last 27 years.
• He is actively participating in Community Social Services, and extends necessary support financially and through his physical presence .

Shri Mehta is leading Sharda Corporation & Group of Companies from more than three decades. The company is engaged in manufacturing and exports of Sharda Brand Stainless Steel / Aluminium, Utensils, Cutlery, Barware. Under his able leadership, the company has expanded its activities significantly. As acknowledgment and recognition for the excellent export performance, the company has been consistently receiving Export Excellence Awards from Various Councils, All India Stainless Steel Industries Association & other relevant organisations.

He has been associated with important trade associations. He has travelled extensively globally for business and led trade delegations, which has culminated into opportunities of new markets for the Industry. Shri Mehta is a dynamic and progressive exporter, who always makes an attempt to support the exports trade as a whole, and export fraternity in specific.

Bassel Bitar

Bassel Bitar is the Regional Representative – Asia and Eastern Europe at DMCC, the world’s leading Free Zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise.

Joining DMCC as a Team Leader in 2015, Bassel is responsible for promoting the benefits of doing business in Dubai and setting up companies in DMCC.

Prior to joining DMCC, Bassel held senior sales positions at both Etisalat Telecom and Emirates NBD in Dubai.

Bassel earned a Bachelor of Business administration degree in Hotel Management and tourism from the National American University in 2002.

Siddharth Shah

• Established a unique model in UAE combining consultancy and fiduciary management services for a one-stop client solution

• Led a team of 10 to execute operations as the front office in UAE for 35 clients with combined size of USD 150 MM, providing

range of services including consultancy, strategy management, ops management; clocked revenues in excess of USD 2MM p.a.

• Strategized and brokered a USD 10MM loan between India’s largest oil refinery and one of world’s largest steel traders

• Strategized and implemented UAE operations, including supply chain, of a listed pharma firm to boost revenues by 25%

• Led supply sourcing streamlining and internal operations restructuring of a leading technology services company

• Managed portfolios size > $10 Mn for HNI clients over 5 years through bond and equity investments

• Authored an article "Cross Border Investment - India and UAE" in the prestigious national All India Federation of Tax
