Ahmed Bin Sulayem is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC and has driven its growth from a start-up of 28 member companies in 2003 to the world’s leading international business district in 2025 with over 25,000 member companies from 180 countries, employing over 90,000 people.
Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to the market a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership. In 2023, DMCC was named ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record ninth consecutive year.
Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working in 87 towers. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project, the Uptown Dubai district.
Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX).
The Kimberley Process officially appointed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process (KP) in November 2015. Shortly after, the UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Mr Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the KP for 2016. Mr Bin Sulayem was reappointed Chair of the KP for a historic second time in 2024, and has continued his leadership role with the position of Custodian Chair in 2025.

HE Amna Fikri has been officially appointed as the UAE Ambassador to Finland and Estonia in September 2022 and June 2024 respectively. Concurrent to her role as an Ambassador, Ms. Fikri has been serving as an Economic Advisor to Minister of State HE Ahmed Al Sayegh since October 2022. As an Advisor, she is responsible for securing UAE economic and trade interests and facilitating foreign investments growth and outbound trade and exports.
Ms. Fikri previously served as Director of the Economic and Trade Affairs (ETA) Department from August 2020 to October 2022, as Deputy Director of the ETA Department from April 2019 to July 2020, and as Senior Policy Analyst and Head of the Policy Analysis Section at the Policy Planning Department from March 2016 to March 2019. She also served as a secondee to the Office of Foreign Minister from September 2019 to June 2020, and as a secondee to the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in November 2018. From January 2020 to June 2022. In her capacity as Director of the ETA Department, Ms. Fikri led the UAE’s AML/CFT Expert Group engagements with foreign jurisdictions, and coordinated the UAE’s engagement with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), with the aim of improving the UAE’s AML-CFT framework.
Ms. Fikri attained a Master’s in Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Postgraduate Diploma with Honorable Distinction in UAE Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, and a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in International Relations, with double minors, from the American University of Sharjah.
Throughout her diplomatic career, Ms. Fikri received the UAE Prime Minister’s Medal for Distinguished Female Ambassador in December 2024, acknowledging her leadership and contributions to strengthening international relations and supporting the UAE’s strategic objectives. In March 2024, she received a special promotion from the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs for her key contribution to the successful delisting of the UAE from the FATF grey-list. In November 2019, she was selected by the IISS as a Regional Young Leader. She also won the Excellence Award of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Distinguished New Employee in February 2017.
Ms. Fikri is a keen reader of literature and is an art and music enthusiast. She is also an amateur photographer and enjoys playing sports.

Belal Jassoma is Director of Ecosystems at DMCC, the world’s leading business district and authority on international commodities trade and enterprise.
Belal joined DMCC in 2011 and has been instrumental in scaling up DMCC’s ecosystems and commercial offering, including new products, services and member engagement programmes. In his current capacity as Director for Ecosystems, Belal is responsible for developing key strategic relationships, partnerships and product functions as well as overseeing ecosystem development across several of DMCC’s industry verticals such as crypto, gaming, AI, energy and financial services.
Belal holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the American University of Sharjah and brings over 18 years of experience in real estate, investment, and government administration.

Ville Korpela is a Consultant at the DMCC AI Centre. A serial entrepreneur and innovation strategist, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Prometheus Capital Group in London and GREX Group in Newport Beach, California, and serves as Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Impact Innovation Institute in Finland. He is a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council in Washington, DC, and sits on several advisory boards of investment funds, family offices, and technology firms globally. Ville holds a degree from the University of Oxford.
