Ahmed Bin Sulayem is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC and has driven its growth from a start-up of 28 member companies in 2003 to the world’s leading free zone in 2023 with over 24,000 member companies from 180 countries, employing over 65,000 people.
Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to the market a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership. In 2023, DMCC was named the ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record nine consecutive years.
Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working in 87 towers. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project; the much-anticipated Uptown Dubai district.
Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX).
The Kimberley Process officially appointed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process in November 2015. Shortly after, the UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Mr Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the Kimberley Process for 2016.
Ambassador of the UAE to Vietnam
His Excellency Dr. Bader Al Matrooshi is Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and was Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba and a non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Haiti, Jamaica, the Union of St.
Kitts and Nevis and the Dominican Republic, as well as the representative of the United Arab Emirates government in the Association of Caribbean States.
Prior to that, he held the position of Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. He also worked at the UAE Embassy in Washington, D.C. as Director of Media Affairs, and Consul at the UAE Embassy in Vienna.
H.E Al Matrooshi holds a PhD in Economic Sciences from the University of Havana, Cuba. His research focused on "Emirati cooperation with the Caribbean region". He also holds an MA in International Service from American University in Washington, D.C., with a special focus on peace, conflict resolution, and international development. In addition, he holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Alabama, with a major in Political Science and a sub-major in International Business Management.
His Excellency attended a number of executive programs, including Leading the Future of the UAE, "Leadership and Innovation" at Ashridge Business School, "Negotiation Skills" at Harvard University, "Emotional Intelligence and Strategic Leadership" at INSEAD, and "Crisis / Emergency / Disaster Management" at the University of Duke.
His Excellency Ambassador Al Matrooshi has contributed to the UAE's national initiatives such as hosting Expo 2020 in Dubai.
He represented his country in many international political, economic and social conferences organized by governmental, international and regional organizations such as the Atomic Energy Agency, OPEC, the OPEC Fund, UNIDO, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization, the Association of Caribbean States, and the Central American Integration System (SICA, after its acronym in Spanish), among others.
His Excellency was also a speaker at several high-level seminars including “Foreign Direct Investment: Business Opportunities and Sustainable Development in Cuba”, held in 2018, within the framework of the thirty-seventh session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
His Excellency received many awards and appreciations from several institutions.
Many internationally recognized research institutions have published articles by HE Ambassador Al Matrooshi in the areas of sustainability, development and international cooperation.

Mohammed Ibrahim Mohammed is a Senior Manager of Corporate Sales at DMCC, the world’s leading Free Zone and Government of Dubai Authority on commodities trade and enterprise.
Joining DMCC in 2014, Mohammed is responsible for promoting the benefits of doing business in Dubai and establishing a presence in DMCC. Building strategic relationships is a key focus for Mohammed, and so too is engaging with local and international business communities at key industry events throughout the year.
With over 16 years of business development and corporate sales experience, Mohammed has worked alongside a number of senior figures in both the public and private sectors of the United Arab Emirates. Mohammed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the American University in Emirates.
