Ahmed Bin Sulayem is the Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC and has driven its growth from a start-up of 28 member companies in 2003 to the world’s leading international business district in 2025 with over 25,000 member companies from 180 countries, employing over 80,000 people.
Tasked with enhancing commodity trade flows through Dubai, DMCC has introduced to the market a number of value-added products and services under Mr Bin Sulayem’s leadership. In 2023, DMCC was named ‘Global Free Zone of the Year’ by The Financial Times fDi Magazine, for a record ninth consecutive year.
Mr Bin Sulayem oversaw the exponential growth of the DMCC Free Zone master development in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), a 200-hectare business and residential community in Dubai of over 100,000 people living and working in 87 towers. Mr Bin Sulayem also oversees the development of DMCC’s latest real estate project, the Uptown Dubai district.
Mr Bin Sulayem currently serves as the Chairman the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) and the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX).
The Kimberley Process officially appointed the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as the first and only Arab country to Chair the Kimberley Process (KP) in November 2015. Shortly after, the UAE Ministry of Economy officially appointed Mr Bin Sulayem as the UAE’s Chair of the KP for 2016. Mr Bin Sulayem was reappointed Chair of the KP for a historic second time in 2024, and has continued his leadership role with the position of Custodian Chair in 2025.

H.E. Dr. Bader Abdulla Almatrooshi is the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam & non-resident Ambassador to Lao PDR and served as an Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, the Republic of Haiti, Jamaica, the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and the Dominican Republic, as well as the representative of the government of the United Arab Emirates to the Association of Caribbean States (ACS).
Prior to this post, he was the director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE. He also worked in UAE’s embassy in Washington DC as Director of Media Affairs and in UAE’s embassy in Vienna as Consul.
Ambassador Almatrooshi holds a PhD in Economic Sciences in “UAE Cooperation with the Caribbean Region”. He also holds a Master’s Degree in International Service with a concentration in peace and conflict resolution and international development and a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in political science and a minor in International Business Administration.
H.E. attended a number of executive programs including the UAE Future Leadership, “Leadership and Innovation” at Ashridge Business School, “Negotiations Skills” at Harvard University, “Emotional Intelligence and Strategic Leadership” at INSEAD, and “Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management” at Duke University.
Ambassador Almatrooshi contributed to UAE national mega initiatives such as the hosting of Expo 2020 in Dubai. H.E. represented his country in various international political, economic and social conferences organized by governmental and international and regional organizations such as the Atomic Energy Agency, OPEC, OPEC Fund, UNIDO, IMF, the World Bank, CTBTO, the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), and the Central America Integration System (SICA, after its Spanish acronym), among others. His Excellency was also a panelist at numerous high-level seminars. H.E. has received multiple awards and recognitions from various institutions.

Phong was appointed as Deputy CEO of Viettel Solutions – a branch of Viettel Group – in March 2020. He has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and ICT industry and has dedicated himself as a part of Viettel for 15 years. In 2006, he was a founding member of Viettel Digital Content Services and held the title of Head of Technology. He was also one of the initiators of the first international-class data centres in Vietnam in 2009 as Head of Software & SI Department. After taking the position of Viettel Media’s CTO in 2010, he attended the leadership program for Viettel Group leaders. From 2014 he became Deputy Chief International Business Officer, then Chief International Business Officer in 2016, managed more than $200 million annually in international services revenue and was responsible for executive management of wholesales and international business for Viettel such as international voice, roaming, subsea cable, international network development, data wholesales, global ICT services, A2P/P2P messages, Global SIM and more. Prior to launching his career, Phong obtained a bachelor’s degree of Applied Mathematics from VNU University of Science, he then completed his master’s degree of Business Administration and Management in VNU University of Economics and Business and a master’s degree of Computer Science in Utrecht University. Now, as Deputy CEO of the largest technology corporation in Vietnam, Phong is in charge of business development and cooperation with government agencies, large enterprises customers, consulting and implementing digital transformation solutions for customers and selling Telecom and ICT products, services and solutions to foreign markets.
