Evgeny Garanin is DMCC’s leading sustainability expert, playing a key role in the development and implementation of the organization’s ESG strategy. As the Secretary of the SDG Steering Committee, he oversees company-wide performance metrics and leads engagement with external stakeholders.
Evgeny conducted the analysis of DMCC’s environmental footprint and spearheaded a digital transformation that significantly reduced FTEs while improving energy and water consumption across DMCC’s community. He developed the company’s 2050 net-zero strategy and established the Sustainability Hub, an ecosystem focused on empowering the private sector with practical tools to enhance their ESG performance through partnerships, a world-class expert network, and advisory services.
Previously, Evgeny held several public sector roles focused on policy development and public affairs across various commodity industries. Notably, he served as an advisor to the Permanent Mission of the UAE to the United Nations, where he played a key role in the adoption of the resolution on the Kimberley Process and conflict diamonds. His work in these roles underscored his commitment to advancing sustainable practices and ethical standards in global trade.

Rana is the Founder of The Surpluss, a UAE Future 100 company and a B Corp certified climate-tech startup that helps businesses trade their excess resources and drive profitable innovation and waste reduction in multiple sectors. She is also a part time PhD researcher at the IfM (Industrial Resilience Research Group). The Surpluss operates across three continents, and is recognized as a 2x Top Innovator by the World Economic Forum for global challenges spanning industry 4.0 and circular economy. Rana has over 13 years of experience spanning marine conservation, litigation, and chemicals manufacturing, and holds a U.S. patent for developing new systems for circular economy standardization and resource sharing. Rana has received an Mst in Sustainability Leadership from the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership (CISL) with distinction and is also an accredited GRI Sustainability Professional, Sustainability Excellence Associate, and Biomimicry Practitioner certified.

Dubai Holding
Johanna Salem is the Associate Director for Sustainability at Dubai Holding, where she plays a pivotal role in delivering the Group’s sustainability and decarbonisation strategy to support the Group in achieving its Net Zero by 2050 commitment. Johanna has led the establishment of Dubai Holding’s first greenhouse gas (GHG) baseline in 2023, including Scope 3 value chain emissions. She also setup the Group’s supplier engagement programme in partnership with EcoVadis to assess strategic suppliers on their sustainability performance. She developed key sustainability policies, including the Sustainability Commitment, Sustainable Design Principles, and Supplier Code of Conduct.

Rohit is the Co-founder and CTO of Maalexi.com, an agri-supply chain technology company disrupting the cross-border trade market for agri-businesses. Maalexi’s AI-powered platform seamlessly connects international buyers and sellers, eliminates risks in cross-border trade, and unlocks working capital solutions for agri-SMEs. Rohit has previously worked as a management consultant at Monitor Deloitte, where he focused on driving digital innovation and transformation, and played a pivotal role in establishing the digital practice in the region. He also has experience setting up multiple technology startups across the US.

Nadeera Tech
Samer Kamal is a well known impact entrepreneur in the environment and sustainability sector. He is a Senior Advisor at Nadeera Technologies, a waste tech company driving the decarbonization of packaging, as well as Chief Operating Officer at Infinitum Energy, where he leads exciting renewable sustainable infrastructure projects in developing markets. Earlier in his career, he founded Bee’ah, The Sharjah Environment Co., serving as Managing Director from 2007 to 2011, where he led its transformation into a regional leader in waste management. He has also previously served as Chief Sustainability Officer at Averda, driving its transition from traditional waste management to circular services, helping businesses decarbonize.
