She has been instrumental in securing DMCC’s reputation as the world’s leading free zone, recipient of the Global Free Zone of the Year award by the Financial Times for nine consecutive years. With a member base of over 24,000 companies across diversified sectors, DMCC today contributes to 11% of Dubai FDI and 7% of GDP. Feryal leads the implementation of DMCC’s Smart and Sustainable District Strategy and oversees the development of its iconic mixed-used districts of Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) and Uptown Dubai.

Dr Hamad Buamim is the Chairman of the Board of DMCC. Previously, Dr Hamad served as President and CEO of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce from 2006 to 2022, where he led key business transformations in Dubai and chaired the ICC World Chambers Federation in Paris from 2018 to 2022. In addition to his current role at DMCC, Dr Hamad holds several other leadership and board positions, including Chairman of National General Insurance PJSC and Vice Chairman of Deyaar Properties PJSC. He also serves as a Board Member at Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC, International Hotel Investment PLC - Malta, and Economic Zones World (JAFZA).

One of the UK’s leading authorities on international trade policy, David Henig has been Director of the UK Trade Policy Project at the think tank European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE) since 2018. Previously he worked with the UK government including on U.S.-EU trade talks, international investment, and in establishing a trade policy function after Brexit. David serves as Expert Adviser to the House of Lords International Agreements Committee.

Jinny joined ICBC Standard Bank in early 2016 as Chief China Economist, and leads the China markets strategy and research team. Her focus is to deliver China macroeconomic and market insights to international clients and stakeholders with interest in China. Her team’s in-depth coverage spans from macro conditions and policies to Renminbi internationalisation, sustainable investment and transition financing. Prior to joining ICBCS, Jinny was a London-based Senior Economist at Standard Chartered Bank. Her previous roles include China macroeconomic and market analysis based in both Shanghai and London.

Dr Minako Morita-Jaeger is a trade policy expert with broad experiences across the globe. Her areas of expertise include: Free Trade Agreements; the WTO; services trade; digital governance and trade; economic security and trade; Asia-Pacific trade policy and UK trade policy. Prior to her research work in academia from 2010 at LSE and the University of Sussex, she was an economic affairs officer at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Geneva; as a WTO services trade negotiator at the Japanese Delegation to the international organisations in Geneva; and as a principal trade policy analyst at the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) in Tokyo.

Ram has a proven track record of over 30 years, both within large companies and as an entrepreneur, in building digitally enabled green businesses working to accelerate the transition to a green economy, and in creating success for investors. Ram has made it his purpose to bring the power of big business, investors, entrepreneurial innovators and governments together to hyperscale businesses to tackle the significant challenges contributing to climate change.

Michael Lawrence is the Chief Executive of Asia House, an independent think tank and advisory service. He leads the Asia House team in delivering business and market intelligence to some of the world’s biggest companies and governments in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Michael was appointed Chief Executive of Asia House in September 2012 after a distinguished career as a journalist, editor and executive in international media. He was Global Editor of Reuters from 2006-2012, leading a team of 3,000 journalists covering news in text, television and pictures from almost 200 bureaux around the world. Michael was awarded an OBE in the King’s 2023 New Year Honours list for his services to international relations between the UK and Asia.
